Nina Kaden-Lottick, MD, associate professor of Pediatrics (Hematology/Oncology) and medical director of the HEROS program at Yale School of Medicine, discusses challenges that might come up when providing survivorship care.

Often, there is a sense of delayed gratification with survivorship, as the treatments benefit the patient in the long run. A patient might also experience emotional or psychosocial effects that keep them from wanting to engage in survivor care.
