Halle Moore, MD, medical oncologist, Cleveland Clinic, discusses survivorship issues and symptoms that breast cancer survivors face.

Moore led a study that looked at individuals in various stages of their survivorship and found that those who received chemotherapy or who were overweight or obese faced the highest symptom burden, with issues such as neuropathy, hot flashes, fatigue, and difficulty concentrating. Patients who received endocrine therapy had a higher risk for hot flashes and sexual symptoms, but not much more, and those who had radiation showed no increased risk of symptoms, which Moore found surprising.
