Moffitt Cancer Center is excited to invite all oncology nurses, and anyone interested in the field of oncology to attend the 22nd Annual Current Perspectives in Oncology Nursing Conference in Tampa, Florida. This annual event is dedicated to sharing the latest developments and cutting-edge advancements in oncology care, with a special focus on topics and research that are directly relevant to oncology nursing practice. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about the most recent innovations in treatment, evidence-based practices, and research in the field of oncology.

This year’s conference will cover a diverse range of topics critical to oncology nursing practice. These include Bispecific Treatments, which are rapidly transforming cancer care; Nutrition in Oncology, exploring the role of obesity and it’s impact on cancer.; Meditation and Mindfulness, focusing on the mental and emotional well-being of both patients and healthcare providers; Difficult Conversations with Patients and Peers, providing guidance on how to approach sensitive topics with compassion and professionalism; and Psycho-Oncology, which examines the psychological challenges faced by cancer patients and their caregivers.

The event will feature presentations from a variety of subject matter experts in oncology, including experienced nurses, pharmacists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals. This provides a unique opportunity for participants to hear from leaders in the field, who will share their expertise, research findings, and practical advice to improve oncology care. Attendees will also be eligible to receive Continuing Education (CE) credits for participating in the conference.

We are thrilled to announce that our keynote speaker for this year’s conference will be Sean Swarner, a true inspiration, and a living testament to human resilience. Sean, who was given only 14 days to live after being diagnosed with terminal cancer, defied the odds to become the first cancer survivor to reach the summit of Mount Everest. He has since gone on to conquer the highest peaks on all seven continents, ski to both the North and South Poles, and complete the challenging Hawaii Ironman World Championship. In addition to his extraordinary physical feats, Sean is a passionate advocate for cancer survivors and founded The Cancer Climber Association, which aims to support cancer patients and help them find hope and strength in the face of adversity. He is also the author of the book BECOMING UNSTOPPABLE: Conquering Your Everest and a sought-after speaker whose powerful story of perseverance continues to inspire people around the world.

The conference is an all-day event, with breakfast and lunch included to allow participants to connect with colleagues and peers throughout the day. In addition, there will be multiple opportunities to engage with industry vendors and community partners, creating a space for further collaboration and learning. Attendees will also have the chance to win exciting raffle prizes, including gift cards and other items.

Join us at this transformative conference to gain valuable insights into the future of oncology nursing, hear from leading experts, and be inspired by Sean Swarner’s remarkable journey of survival and triumph over the unimaginable. This is an event you won’t want to miss!
