The event recognizes individuals dedicated to empowering people affected by myeloproliferative neoplasms.

CURE Media Group, the nation’s leading digital and print media enterprise focused on cancer patients, is proud to announce that Scott Hamilton, Olympic champion, author and cancer survivor, will be the guest speaker for the 6thAnnual MPN Heroes® recognition ceremony. The event honors individuals or organizations that have made a difference in the field of blood cancers known as myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs). This year’s program will take place on Friday, November 30, at the Hard Rock Hotel San Diego.

“We are thrilled to have Scott Hamilton as the guest speaker for this celebration,” said Michael J. Hennessy Jr., President of MJH Associates Inc., parent company of CURE Media Group. “As a cancer survivor and longtime advocate for cancer research and education, Scott’s values are perfectly aligned with the core principles of the MPN Heroes recognition program. Together, we look forward to celebrating the accomplishments of these heroes at the MPN Heroes recognition ceremony.”

Inspired by his own journey with testicular cancer and pituitary brain tumors, and the loss of his mother to cancer, Hamilton launched the Scott Hamilton CARES (Cancer Alliance for Research, Education and Survivorship) Foundation. This nonprofit organization provides education, supports research and hosts survivorship programs for patients and caregivers, and works to fund innovative therapies and treatment. Hamilton serves on the board of directors of the Provision Center for Proton Therapy in Knoxville, Tennessee.

The MPN Heroes Recognition Program is made possible by the generous support of Incyte Corporation, a global biopharmaceutical company that discovers and develops novel medicines to meet serious unmet medical needs in oncology and other diseases. The program honors those who are empowering patients with MPNs and making a difference in the MPN community. The honorees are nominated by patients and caregivers for their extraordinary contributions and dedication.
