Dr. Killelea talks about the importance of communication between all healthcare providers when treating patients with breast cancer.

Brigid Killelea, MD, MPH, FACS, from the Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale Medical School stresses how important it is that all heathcare providers communicate after a patient with breast cancer has gone through surgery

Many patients have gone through a full round of chemotherapy before the surgery and will go on to receive radiation therapy after the surgery. With the possibility of side effects or complications from so many different treatments, “what’s best for the patient,” Killelea says, depends on everyone having good communication.
