At Fox Chase Cancer Center, staff receive a Caring Behaviors educational segment that goes through one-to-one conversations with patients. This training covers how to be present in the conversations, eye-contact, touch, and communication. These techniques can be used during difficult conversations. There are also opportunities for ongoing education through other nurse mentors, and support from other specialists, including pastoral care.
